This spring has seen David awarded a number of prizes by his colleagues: 1st Prize (Sports Action) from the White House News Photographers's Assn. (and a 2nd for Sports story.) A 1st prize for best Campaign picture of 2008 from Best Of Photojournalism (National Press Photographers Assn.) 3rd place Magazine Photographer of the Year from the University of Missouri Pictures of the Year.(He was "Magazine Photographer of the Year" in 1980.) And in the China International Photo competition (CHIPP.cn) he was awarded a 1st Prize for his Sports Portfolio from the Beijing Games, and a 3rd for his pictures of Barack Obama's campaign.
